Where's my birthday?

Last week Lia turned 4. It's hard to believe that the last 2 1/2 years have passed by. She is growing up so fast! :-) We had a wonderful birthday day together. We met friends at our favorite little coffee shop, we picked up Zach from school and had a picnic lunch at a little park near the library and we had a wonderful dinner at home with our family. Lia kept saying two things all day that are worth noting because they were so cute. The first, "Where is my birthday?" I'm not sure what she meant by that--I tried all day to figure out what she meant. The second, "I am 4 today!" She was quite proud and would tell everyone we would see. Another highlight of her day was when Daddy came home with a birthday balloon and flowers for the birthday girl! Wow! Did daddy ever win her heart!

The day after her birthday we had friends over for pizza and cupcakes. Lia loved all of the attention except for when we started singing happy birthday to her. She refused to blow out the candles. It was really funny. After it was all over she was quite happy to eat her chocolate cupcake but didn't want to have anything to do with the song or the candles.

This past weekend was also pretty fabulous! Our wonderful friend Rachel came to hang out with us. We made our first trip to the city market to purchase yummy veggies and fruit. It was so much fun. Sunday we had lunch at D'Bronx--yum and took a very long nap! We also watched one of my favorite movies--Babbett's Feast! If you haven't seen it you should!
