1. Above. I had lunch with a friend today. We ate at one of my favorite breakfast places because it was close to her workplace. Each time the waitress came to our table she stood above me with such a warm and kind smile. As I waited for my friend, I watched as she served as both waitress and hostess. Most people never looked up or made eye contact with her but she continued to serve with hospitality and cheer. I asked her name. Sheena. She asked mine. I think these moments are important. Perhaps some days those moments are just simple encounters but other days it could mean something so significant to someone who just needs to be acknowledged.
